At Texas Health Physicians Group (THPG), we are committed to partnering with our patients for a lifetime of health and well-being. To hold ourselves accountable for top performance, we survey our patients through the nationally recognized survey vendor, Press Ganey.
For more than 30 years, Press Ganey’s mission has been to support health care providers in understanding and improving the entire patient experience. In our continuous efforts to earn the trust and lifetime loyalty of our patients, as well as improve the health of the people in the communities we serve, the feedback our patients provide has become valuable beyond measure. We are now joining the ranks of other top-performing health care systems in the country as we share this patient feedback with the public.
Whom Do We Survey?
Patients seeing THPG providers for office visits may receive a mailed or electronic patient experience survey within two weeks of their visit. A random sampling of patients will receive mail surveys, while all remaining patients providing a valid email address will receive electronic surveys. This process enables us to capture as many patient voices as possible. In 2016, we received back approximately 140,000 surveys from our medical practice patients.
What Do We Share?
A provider’s Five-Star Rating will be a reflection of performance on care provider specific questions found on the survey. Both positive and negative comments will be posted. However, we will not post comments with certain content, such as profanity, slanderous or libelous content, staff names other than care providers, and the protected health information of our patients. All patient feedback is used in efforts to improve our care delivery and strengthen provider-patient relations.
