We're Coming to Town!
What is Texas Health building in Mansfield?
Texas Health has joined with AdventHealth to build a new health care campus in Mansfield, one of the fastest growing areas of North Texas. Construction on the 4-story, 195,400-square-foot community hospital, called Texas Health Hospital Mansfield, will begin this fall. The hospital will have capacity for 59 beds. With a total cost of $150 million, the campus will also include an 80,000-square-foot medical office building that will house primary care and specialty practices.
Where will it be located?
The 38-acre campus will be located on the southeast corner of U.S. Highway 287 and Lone Star Road in Mansfield.
How is AdventHealth involved? And why?
The project is a joint-venture between Texas Health and AdventHealth. The two faith-based organizations have a long history of collaboration; Huguley Memorial, an AdventHealth hospital, joined the Texas Health system in 2012. Now known as Texas Health Huguley Hospital Fort Worth South, the 356-bed facility is a joint venture between the two health systems, serving residents of Ellis, Johnson and Tarrant counties.
This project is a continuation of the great relationship between our organizations. We’re coming together as two organizations to build a one-of-a-kind health care campus — with the single aim to provide the people of Mansfield and surrounding communities with unmatched services close to where they work, live and play.
Why build in Mansfield?
Covering 50 square miles, Mansfield is located primarily in southeastern Tarrant County, with areas stretching into Ellis and Johnson counties. The city and surrounding communities have expanded rapidly in recent years, with a population growth rate of more than 10 percent from 2011-17.
And this isn’t the first time we’ve put stakes down in Mansfield. This is Texas Health’s second major facility in Mansfield. The system opened Texas Health Recovery & Wellness Center, an adult substance abuse treatment center, in 2017. It’s located about 3 miles north of the future hospital site.
What is the construction timeline?
Construction began in October 2018, with an anticipated opening in late 2020.
What kind of care will be provided?
The 80,000-square-foot medical office building will house primary care and specialty practices. The hospital will have capacity for 95 beds, including Medical/Surgical beds, adult ICU rooms, labor-and-delivery suites, and ante/post-partum rooms. Services will include a 24/7 emergency room, surgical services, women’s services (with a continuing care nursery), orthopedics, interventional cardiology, gastroenterology, imaging, lab and pharmacy.
When will you begin hiring?
Hiring for the new facility will be based on construction completion and its opening date. For new facilities, we typically like to have the leadership team in place at least six to nine months prior to the hospital opening. For Texas Health Mansfield, this would most likely begin late in 2019 or early 2020. Staffing plans and targeted positions are then posted and active recruitment begins.
