- Joel Wise served as a combat medic with the United States Army 1st Calvary Division during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2011, and later as a senior medic at Fort Hood before being honorably discharged in 2013. For his service, he was honored with commendation, conduct and achievement medals by the Army. More recently, he worked as an emergency department technician in the Abilene, Texas area before relocating to Dallas-Fort Worth.
Wise is a certified physician assistant with clinical training and experience in the areas of family and internal medicine, pediatrics, general surgery, emergency medicine, wound care, psychiatry, orthopedics and cardiology. He earned his undergraduate degree at Abilene Christian University and graduated with honors as a U.S. Army healthcare specialist from the Army Medical Department and School at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. Wise received his Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth. He has completed medical mission trips to Mexico and is an avid volunteer in the area of equine rehabilitation.
