About the Program
The Pharmacy Practice Residency is a 12-month program designed to develop general skills in inpatient and ambulatory patient care, and pharmacy practice management. Pharmacy residents are based at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas and are affiliated with the Texas Tech School of Pharmacy.
Pharmacists completing this residency program will become competent practitioners of pharmaceutical care as practiced in an integrated clinical environment. This program offers a positive atmosphere for residents to learn and grow professionally by providing opportunities to teach, collaborate with other healthcare professionals, and provide direct patient care.
Residents are required to complete 10 rotations and one major research project. Flexibility exists for the resident to individualize training to gain advanced skills in his or her area of interest. An optional teaching certificate is available to residents who would like to pursue academia or improve their teaching skills.

About the Program
This PGY-1 program builds on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for PGY-2 pharmacy residency training. Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth is one of two flagship hospital members of Texas Health Resources (THR), one of the largest faith-based, fully integrated, not-for-profit health care systems in Texas.
Since its opening in 1930, Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth (THFW) has become a respected center of quality health care. THFW is a 720-bed private, non-profit, tertiary care, Level-II trauma center. In addition THFW has >90 adult ICU beds and is designated as a Cycle III Chest Pain Center, a Comprehensive Stroke Center, and an Acute Heart Failure Center.
